Termination Clause

A termination clause specifies the conditions under which a contract can be ended before its natural expiration date.

How It Works in Contracts

Termination clauses define termination for cause and for convenience, notice periods, cure periods, and post-termination obligations.

Examples

  • Either party may terminate with 30 days' written notice
  • Immediate termination upon bankruptcy
  • Termination after a 15-day cure period if breach is unremedied
